ERI is a gigantic, dead machine-lifeform. S-104 (Sin). S-105 (Sen), and another unnamed machine-lifeform seem to have worked on ERI. It is implied ERI was once sentient but was "hollowed out" for some reason outside of Sin, Sen, and the 3rd member's control, and is now just a weapon. There is a control room inside of ERI that contains other dead machine-lifeforms.
The chief of the tower refers to ERI as 'the carcass'.
